Buying a Static Caravan
The most important step in buying a caravan in Mid Wales is finding the right park. Parks vary from quiet country parks with no clubs like Tanat Holiday Park to large parks which host a number of activities. Tanat Holiday Park offers peace and tranquillity and a chance to get away from it all situated in a secluded position surrounded by countryside.
How large is the Park
We currently have 140 static holiday home pitches.
What facilities to you have on the park?
We have a children’s play area, recreational areas for dog walking, exclusive fishing rights on the River Tanat and a launderette. There is no club or swimming pool on site but these facilities are not too far from the park if you want them.
What contract will you allow me?
As members of the BH&HPA, we offer an annual agreement, renewed each season.
How long can I keep my holiday home on Tanat Holiday Park?
We have no upgrade rules. All we ask is that you keep your holiday home in a clean and tidy condition and abide by our site rules.
How long is the season?
The park is open 1st March to 30th November and during this time you can holiday in your caravan whenever you wish.
Can I live in my holiday home on the park and make it my main residence?
This is something we are very strict about. Your caravan can only be used for holiday and recreational purposes only.
Can I sublet my holiday home?
Tanat Holiday Park does not allow commercial subletting; however friends and family may use your holiday home if agreeable by the park. We believe this maintains the security and the sense of community on the park.
Are pets allowed?
Yes. Some of our holiday home owners have a caravan for this reason only as it allows them to holiday with their pets. However, we do reserve the right to refuse certain dangerous breeds and we ask that all pets are kept under control at all times.
Do you do finance?
We can assist in arranging finance through Salop Leisure of Shrewsbury. Please ask for more details.
What about warranty/guarantee on used holiday homes?
All our second hand holiday homes come with a three month guarantee which covers the fixture and fittings of the caravan, i.e. boiler, gas fire, cooker etc. New caravans come with the manufacturers warrantee.
If there Wi-Fi on the park?
Yes Wi-Fi is available on the park. Please note due to our rural location this complimentary service is not guaranteed.
What are the annual running costs?

How much do holiday homes cost?
We have a range of caravans to suit most budgets and always try and have new and used holiday homes available to view.
Can friends and family visit?
Of course, all we ask is that you let us know they are visiting.
Can I sell my holiday home myself if I decide to leave?
Yes. However all sales must be arranged through the park office and all buyers must be approved by the park owners.
Can I stay in my caravan during the closed season?
No. The park has a closed period over the winter from the 1st December until the end of February. During this time, all services are disconnected to all holiday homes.
Is the park easily accessible for the disabled
Yes, the park is all on one level with hard standing roads around the park. Parking is available next to every pitch.
Who owns the park?
Tanat Holiday Park is a small family run park, run by the Hall family since 1967. We have no sales people. On entering the park you will be met by the owners Ian or Cheryl who will be happy to show you around the park and answer any questions you have.
